FBI Stops Investigating Assaults on ICE Agents

Concerns are growing among critics about the decision to remove an external agency from investigating incidents involving ICE agents. They worry this change could reduce scrutiny of law enforcement actions and decrease public transparency.

Despite a memo suggesting this policy change, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed in a joint statement that they would continue to pursue full legal action against anyone who assaults law enforcement personnel.

The FBI will reportedly discontinue investigations into assault confrontations involving ICE agents. This information comes from two individuals familiar with the new directives.
