Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has publicly suggested initiating a lawsuit against Representative Ro Khanna, D-Calif., following Khanna’s critical comments about Musk on the ‘I’ve Had It’ podcast. Khanna called for accountability from Musk, should the Democratic Party regain control of the House or Senate.
Khanna expressed concerns over Musk, specifically regarding alleged USAID cuts, suggesting these actions might have harmed millions of children worldwide. He called for Musk to face investigation and answer for actions related to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Khanna stated that achieving power should entail holding Musk accountable.
I do believe once we take power, there needs to be accountability. There needs to be accountability for Elon Musk. You know, they’re celebrating that he created 4,400 millionaires, but they don’t talk about the 4.5 million children around the world who he possibly sentenced to death by dismantling USAID.
Musk responded on social media with a post stating, ‘Time to sue this liar.’ He contended that the allegations from Khanna about DOGE’s involvement in harm to children were incorrect. The CEO asserted that DOGE aimed to ensure aid funds’ legitimacy and claimed past instances where USAID officials were convicted of fraud.
Musk offered further clarification in another online post, emphasizing DOGE’s requirement for contact information from aid recipients to prevent fraud. He accused Khanna of falsehoods and questioned his trading practices.
Absolutely. This is a total lie. All DOGE did was require contact with the aid recipients to confirm that funds were being used legitimately. Anything less than this is insane! Multiple people from USAID have been charged by the Justice Department with stealing money. Moreover, they pled GUILTY!
Khanna responded to Musk’s threats through a video, challenging Musk’s approach and asserting his resistance to intimidation. He accused Musk of employing lawfare rather than engaging in debate.
