Educator Continues to Support Rural School Progress

I have spent 30 years working in the field of education, reaching a point where I could retire with full benefits. Yet, I find myself not lounging on my patio with my dogs, but in my office. I serve as an elementary school principal in Phelps County and have returned for my 31st year in education.

My small school in rural Newburg is seeing significant progress. This success stems from a program that is spreading across Missouri. The impact of this program keeps me committed to my job, delaying my retirement plans.

The program’s presence in Newburg has brought about positive change in our school community. It is reshaping the educational experience and outcomes for students in rural areas. This initiative is setting a precedent for wider adoption throughout the state.

Remaining part of this journey is not just a professional duty but a personal mission. While retirement offers a chance to relax, the opportunity to contribute to meaningful educational reform is compelling. Supporting the program and witnessing its impact first-hand reinforces my decision to continue working.
