Former acting chair of the Democratic National Committee, Donna Brazile, chose not to comment on former First Lady Jill Biden’s recent remarks. Jill Biden expressed concern over her husband’s health during the 2024 presidential debate, fearing a potential medical emergency.
During an interview with CBS, Jill Biden mentioned that she was worried her husband, President Joe Biden, might be having a stroke while debating former President Donald Trump. Her statement reignited discussions about Biden’s age and health, particularly given the scrutiny over his debate performance.
When approached by Fox News Digital, Brazile declined to address Jill Biden’s comments, emphasizing a focus on the Democratic Party’s future. “I don’t want to talk about Jill Biden right now,” she said.
Fox News Digital further questioned Brazile amid continued conversations around the 2024 election outcome. These discussions were especially relevant following the release of the DNC’s 2024 internal review report, which analyzed the factors contributing to the party’s defeat.
Expressing her approach, Brazile stated, “Donna Brazile will not focus on the past. Donna Brazile wants to focus on the future.” She highlighted the party’s decision in 2024 when Biden stepped down and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
Brazile said, “We made that decision in 2024 when the then-president decided to step down and pass the torch to Kamala.”
Brazile, a seasoned Democratic strategist and former interim chair of the DNC, remains a significant voice in Democratic politics. Conversations within the party have revolved around Biden’s age and cognitive health and the potential effect on the party’s 2024 performance. There remains debate on whether these concerns were adequately addressed before Biden’s decision to support Harris.
Brazile underscored a division within the Democratic Party. Some members demand an in-depth examination of the events leading to Biden’s withdrawal. Others, like Brazile, emphasize the importance of focusing on upcoming elections.
Brazile reinforced her stance, stating, “Anyone who’s focusing on the past is not focused on the future. I’m actually focused on ’26, ’28, ’32.”
