Plans to honor Dolly Parton, who passed away from cancer at 80, have been unveiled. Dollyfest, a tribute festival, is scheduled in Nashville and London for weekends in 2027, celebrating the iconic legacy of Dolly Parton.
Originally slated for January 2026, the festival was meant to coincide with Parton’s 80th birthday. She was to perform and host the event. After her health decline in August 2025, the festival now shifts to a memorial focus. Organizer Danny Nozell, CEO of CTK Enterprises, emphasized it reflects what Parton would have wanted.
“We had everything in place, but Dolly’s health required adjustments,” said Nozell. “It’s about honoring her in a unique way rather than a traditional memorial.” He encourages people to celebrate Parton as they choose and sees Dollyfest as a fitting tribute born from her own vision.
Parton was privately laid to rest, fulfilling her wish for no public ceremony. Her great-niece, Lainey Parton, shared a heartfelt Instagram post describing Parton’s unwavering support. “She made me feel like I was enough and inspired belief in myself,” Lainey wrote.
Further details on Dollyfest, including ticket information, will be released soon.
