Demetrius Byrd, a former college football player, was arrested in Miami following an incident on a bus where he allegedly threatened a passenger. The former LSU wide receiver reportedly engaged in a heated argument and brandished a blade during the altercation.

According to the New York Post, Byrd asked a passenger, ‘Who wants to die?’ which led to his arrest. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on a $5,000 bond. Additionally, Byrd is facing charges related to a domestic violence warrant.

Byrd gained fame for his crucial touchdown catch in 2007 during a game against Auburn, helping LSU secure a national championship that year. His promising NFL career was derailed by injuries sustained in a car accident just before the draft. Despite being selected by the San Diego Chargers, he never played professionally.

During his time at LSU, Byrd played in 27 games, achieving 72 receptions for 1,134 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was once considered a promising NFL prospect before his career was hindered by injuries.
