The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death of Kenan “Ken” Urker, found in his Louisiana home after a welfare check was requested by loved ones. Anita Blanchard, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s half-brother’s wife, discovered Urker unresponsive through a window at his residence. A man with Anita entered the home through a window, finding Urker cold and not breathing.
Authorities recovered syringes and a spoon with brown powder in the bathroom, alongside a handgun and shot glasses on a nightstand. Urker’s body seemed to have been there for a while. The day before, around 8:45 p.m., he attended church with Anita and her husband, expressing feelings of sadness. A TikTok live video was made later that night while he drove but without speaking, accumulating over 36,000 followers on the platform.
When Urker didn’t show up for work the next day, Anita and Urker’s employer sought to check on him, eventually involving law enforcement. The sheriff’s office’s investigation revealed no signs of foul play. Urker passed on his 34th birthday, and further updates will be communicated if necessary.
Urker was engaged to Gypsy Rose Blanchard in 2018 while she was imprisoned, but they eventually split. They reunited following her release and had a daughter, Aurora, in late 2024. Blanchard stated Urker likely died from a drug overdose. She expressed uncertainty about the intention behind the event, noting his recent poor mental state.
Following his death, Blanchard shared a tribute on Instagram, stating Urker will be remembered and mentioning his struggles with cyberbullying. Blanchard highlighted his experience with intense online harassment, suggesting such pressure contributed to his state. She assured her daughter would remember her father fondly beyond internet criticism. Her post quickly gathered significant attention from her followers.
