Dakota Johnson, the 36-year-old actress, shared her desires for the future in a recent interview with Vogue. While successful in her career, Johnson expressed thoughts about starting a family.
“I really do want a family,” she revealed, finding comfort in the belief that it’s part of a greater plan. “Especially in recent years, I’ve felt a soul wanting to come through, and I hope I’m fortunate enough for that to happen.” Being around friends who have started families brings mixed emotions, but she remains hopeful.
Johnson’s career took off in the 2010s with roles in “The Social Network” and “21 Jump Street.” Her portrayal of Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey” marked her breakout success. Subsequent films like “Peanut Butter Falcon,” “Madame Web,” and “The Materialists” further established her reputation. However, she considers taking a step back. “I’ve worked non-stop for so long,” she admitted. “Now, I’m feeling a deep calling for more real life experiences.”
Her latest project, “Verity,” showcases her role in a psychological thriller. Based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, Johnson stars as Lowen Ashleigh, a ghostwriter navigating eerie events while completing another author’s book series. Reflecting on the filming, she said, “Director Michael Showalter’s direction was campy and different, but it was a fun experience.”
Acting runs in Johnson’s blood. Her mother, Melanie Griffith, and father, Don Johnson, are celebrated actors. Her maternal grandmother, Tippi Hedren, also shares the acting lineage. The Hollywood legacy deeply influences her yet drives her to pursue an authentic life.
