The Cleveland Browns training camp is in full swing, and quarterback Shedeur Sanders has expressed confidence in the harmony within his team. Sanders shared insights while chatting with Browns legend Bernie Kosar about his experiences in his second year at camp.

Sanders stated, “I’m truly excited for this year because of the attitude everyone has in the building. We appreciate the hard coaching, knowing it’s about making us great. Everyone’s goals align here, so we don’t have petty quarterback battles internally. It’s up to the coaches to decide those things.”

Sanders joined Cleveland as a fifth-round draft pick in 2025. He became the starter in Week 11 after Dillon Gabriel, his fellow rookie, suffered a concussion. In his seven starts, Sanders showcased leadership skills with a 3-4 record, passing for 1,400 yards and achieving seven touchdowns despite ten interceptions. His rookie year performance earned him a surprising Pro Bowl selection.

Now, in his sophomore season, Sanders faces competition from veteran NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson for the starting position. The team’s new head coach, Todd Monken, hasn’t indicated who might be leading the race. Gabriel remains third on the depth chart, eager for a chance to start as well.

Sanders emphasized the growth within the quarterback room, stating, “That’s where I say we’ve grown the most. The camaraderie among us is strong,” a sentiment echoed by Kosar.

The Browns will kick off their preseason on August 15 against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. The regular season opener arrives on September 13 with an away game against Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
