Children’s Toys Recalled Due to Safety Concerns

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of popular children’s squeeze toys due to serious injury hazards. These toys, containing water beads, have been found to pose risks if ingested, including choking and intestinal blockage, potentially causing severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, or even death.

Recalled Toys

The recalled toys include:

  • Squeezy Dumplings from GIHNJSI: Sold on Amazon during May and June, these round, cartoon-faced toys feature glitter and are packaged in a bamboo steamer-like container marked with “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME.” Approximately 8,000 units have been recalled.
  • Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns from OKK Trading: Available at various third-party U.S. stores from May through August, these toys also contain glitter and cartoon faces and come in similar bamboo steamer packaging with the labels “Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION.” Around 7,200 units are part of the recall.

For disposal, the CPSC advises writing “RECALLED” on the toys and packaging before discarding them. Consumers should email a photo of the disposed toy to [email protected] (for Squeezy Dumplings) or [email protected] (for Squishy Buns) for a full refund. Notably, no injuries have been reported regarding these toys.

Additional Warning

An additional warning has been issued for Squishy Bun Toys from Ivyapingdianpu. These toys also contain water beads and violate mandatory safety standards for toys, but the company has not agreed to a recall. 100 units sold on Amazon in June are affected, with other potential sellers being unknown.

Consumers should stop using these toys immediately and report any injuries or defects to the CPSC. Immediate disposal is advised, according to officials.
