Chelsea Green’s Journey and Challenges in WWE

Chelsea Green has faced significant challenges but rose to the top of the WWE women’s division. Over the past year, she battled numerous injuries, including a heart issue requiring medical intervention. Despite these setbacks, she achieved her goal by becoming the interim WWE women’s champion at SummerSlam.

Green’s Latest Injury

During a tag team match on Friday, where Green teamed with Tiffany Stratton against Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, Green suffered a broken orbital bone. She shared her experience with her followers, expressing the difficulties of live wrestling. She remarked, “I did get injured last night. Stuff happens. It’s live television. It’s wrestling. It’s an occupational hazard.” Green ended up in the emergency room and described the injury as looking “amazing all things considered” though it feels terrible.

On dealing with the new injury, Green said, “Usually, you guys have seen me play into every single injury but this feels different, obviously. This feels very different. It feels frustrating. I’m upset. I feel like if I didn’t have bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.” She plans to take more time to process and heal from the head trauma, noting, “World domination continues. We’ve just had a minor blip.”

Impact on Her Championship

Uncertainty surrounds whether Green will need to relinquish the interim championship. She claimed the title after outperforming four competitors in a ladder match at SummerSlam.

While Green manages her injury, Rhea Ripley also disclosed undergoing knee surgery, sidelining her for several months. Ripley’s absence necessitated introducing the interim championship leading into SummerSlam.
