Callaway and Good Good Face Backlash Over Controversial Advertisement

Callaway Golf issued a second statement regarding a controversial advertisement involving Good Good, a popular YouTube golf channel with over 2 million subscribers. The advertisement, promoting a special edition driver, featured Good Good co-founder Garrett Clark shoving member Alexis Miestowski to the ground. This video was later deleted.

The video started with Miestowski reaching for the driver in a golf bag. Clark then sprinted toward her, shoved her to the ground, and stood over her, stating, “Do not touch my new driver.” This incident occurred during the 2025 Tour Championship Creator Classic at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

After the video was removed, Good Good apologized, acknowledging that the ad did not align with their brand values. Callaway followed with a statement expressing disappointment over the content and appreciation for Good Good’s response. They emphasized their commitment to creating a more inclusive space in golf.

As questions arose about the advertisement’s approval, Callaway CEO Chip Brewer admitted that the company greenlit the video before its release. He acknowledged the error, calling the video inappropriate and inconsistent with the company’s values. Brewer assured that Callaway opposes discrimination, violence, and threatening behavior.

Brewer further stated that after recognizing the issue, they escalated it, resulting in the video’s immediate removal. Callaway and Good Good issued preliminary statements and launched both internal and external investigations. Callaway implemented changes to their approval processes to prevent such occurrences.

Brewer highlighted Callaway’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in golf, expressing regret over the incident and pledging to improve.

The PGA Tour commented on the situation, emphasizing golf’s role in bringing people together. They stated opposition to violence and noted that the video contradicted their values. Good Good is set to sponsor the PGA Tour’s Good Good Championship in November in Austin, Texas.
