Since 2008, 99 Restaurants has run a promotion in partnership with the Red Sox: when the team wins, kids dine for free. From July 2 to July 22, the Red Sox didn’t lose a game, which led to nearly three weeks of meals for kids at no cost.

Promotions like this are common in sports. For example, at minor league games, fans might earn a treat for witnessing an infield fly. However, these promotions often go unnoticed. In contrast, many remembered the Red Sox promotion. The restaurant reported giving away “thousands” of meals, each valued at approximately $8.

After the Red Sox’s 5-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, 99 Restaurants got a short break from giving out free meals. The team aims to continue its winning ways in a series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
