West Virginia University’s Right-Hander Slade Barton Undergoes a Pitching Assessment
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — As the baseball season progresses, one of the youngest Cy Young awardees in MLB finds themselves in the rugged terrain of West Virginia. They observe a computer display, engage briefly with a group clad in sweatpants, and then head towards a marked position on the floor. LED lights shimmer against their sweating skin as they take a moment to breathe. The athlete lifts their left leg with precision while the right arm lowers. The ball then swiftly covers a distance of over 60 feet.
