Baron Corbin has made a successful return to WWE, capturing the United States Championship at SummerSlam. His victory marks a significant comeback after targeting Trick Williams in his quest for the title.
During SummerSlam at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on August 2, 2026, Corbin capitalized on a moment of distraction to defeat Williams. The match saw rapper Lil Yachty accompany Williams, with unexpected consequences.
Yachty, who often aids Williams, attempted to influence the match by threatening Corbin with the “Trick Stick.” This prompted a shift in Corbin’s focus, yet Yachty’s intervention backfired. As Corbin introduced the U.S. title into the ring, he collided with Williams, sending Yachty through a table outside the ring.
With the referee distracted, Corbin seized the opportunity to strike Williams with the championship belt. He then executed his signature End of Days maneuver, securing the pinfall and his second reign as U.S. champion. Corbin first claimed the title in 2017.
After leaving WWE in 2024, Corbin thrived on the independent circuit, notably in Major League Wrestling where he held a tag team championship. His return to WWE marks a turning point, culminating in his triumph at SummerSlam.
Trick Williams’ reign as champion concluded after 105 days, following his victory over Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42.
