The son of the girlfriend of actor James Handy has been arrested in connection with Handy’s death, according to Los Angeles authorities. The Los Angeles Police Department stated on Thursday that Michael Gledhill, aged 44, faces a murder charge.

Police reported that officers responded to a call reporting ‘unknown trouble’ on the 19200 block of Erwin Street in Tarzana, Los Angeles. This was around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A 911 caller allegedly declared, ‘I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.’

Officers discovered Handy, 81, in the front yard, unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest. He was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Gledhill flagged down officers when they arrived and admitted to being the individual they were seeking, according to the police release.

Authorities arrested Gledhill and took him to Van Nuys Jail. His bail is set at $2 million. Reports indicate Gledhill lived with his mother at the residence.

James Handy was a noted actor, recognized for roles in movies such as Arachnophobia, Jumanji, and Top Gun: Maverick.
