Angel Reese Shines in Record-Breaking Season with Atlanta Dream

In the midst of media attention on other players and teams, Atlanta Dream’s All-Star forward Angel Reese continues to excel quietly. She is having one of her best seasons in the WNBA. On Monday night, the Dream secured a decisive victory over the Toronto Tempo, with a score of 20-12. Reese contributed significantly to this win by scoring 20 points with 50% field goal accuracy and grabbing 14 rebounds.

Reese’s performance marked her 22nd double-double in the 2026 season, setting a new franchise record for the most double-doubles in a single season with the Atlanta Dream. The team’s social media account celebrated her achievement, calling her the “Double-Diva” and acknowledging her place in the team’s history.

With 12 regular-season games remaining, Reese has the opportunity to extend this record further. She has managed to secure a double-double in five of her last six games. At this pace, Reese may break Alyssa Thomas’ record for the most double-doubles in a WNBA season.

This season, Reese is averaging 15.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Her average of 11.9 rebounds per game leads the league. If she maintains this lead, Reese will win her third consecutive rebounding title.

Despite these individual accolades, Reese’s focus remains on winning a championship. Since her trade from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream in April, she has consistently emphasized her championship ambitions. Currently, the Dream are poised to enter the playoffs, marking Reese’s first playoff experience since joining the league as the seventh overall pick in 2024.

Looking ahead, the Dream will face the Connecticut Sun on the road this Thursday and will host the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
