Jenny Racicot accused Graham Platner of sexual assault during an interview on CNN. She stated that he assaulted her at her home in 2021, describing the event as rape. Racicot mentioned that a violent struggle led to a sewing cabinet being knocked over, with a needle piercing her leg.
Racicot’s accusation emerged in an interview published by Politico on a Monday. This extended interview revealed details of the alleged attack, with Racicot recalling that Platner was intoxicated during the incident.
Platner, 41, has called the allegations “categorically false” in a video shared on social media.
Racicot, also 41, shared that she met Platner through a dating app in 2019. She initially found him “intelligent” and “charming,” but noted his self-medication with alcohol. In 2021, she received a text from Platner stating he would visit her home. She responded, advising him not to come, citing her disinterest.
She believed he understood her message until she heard a noise outside her door about half an hour later. Platner entered her house, which was unlocked, uninvited. Racicot described being jumped on while she lay on the couch, with Platner making his sexual intentions clear.
