Adam Copeland, a legendary figure in professional wrestling, will compete at Arena México on Wednesday night. This iconic venue serves as the stage for the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Grand Slam: Mexico event. Despite his long career, Copeland has never performed at this venue before.

At the event, Copeland, along with his tag team partner Christian Cage, who hold the AEW tag team championship, will team up with Matt and Nick Jackson. They face off against Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, Pac, and Wheeler Yuta in an eight-man tag team match.

Speaking about this opportunity, Copeland shared his thoughts on Instagram. “Tonight I get to perform for the first time in The Wrestling Cathedral,” he wrote. “Arena Mexico. The last time I had a match in Mexico was 2008. Mexico we got some catching up to do! I love Lucha Libre. Everything about it. The masks, the mystique, the pageantry. Can’t wait to get out there. See ya soon Mexico, bring your voices.”

Copeland expressed a long-standing ambition to perform in several prestigious venues, including Arena México, Wembley Stadium in London, Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, and the Tokyo Dome in Japan. He is expected to check Wembley Stadium off his list when AEW hosts its premier pay-per-view event, All In, there later this month.

Copeland and Cage claimed the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Double or Nothing, in a challenging I Quit match against FTR. They continue to hold the titles and are likely to enter Wembley Stadium as the reigning champions, barring any formidable challengers.
