Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have reclaimed their place as tag team champions after 25 years by defeating FTR in an I Quit match at Double or Nothing. Since then, they have dominated the tag team division, overcoming formidable opponents like The Death Riders and The Dogs. This resurgence aligns perfectly with Copeland’s goals when he joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He wanted a fresh challenge, not a nostalgia trip.
During an AEW event in Cincinnati in August 2025, Copeland and Cage briefly faced off with weapons before embracing each other. Copeland explained to Fox News Digital, “The reason I came to AEW was to pursue these challenges that seemed impossible elsewhere. Teaming with Christian again, we’ve recreated our team while drawing from our vast experiences. We wanted to avoid a mere rehash of past glories.”
Copeland emphasized the importance of evolving, mentioning their new finishing move, a pop-up spear. Previously, they relied on illegal tactics like the concerto. Before Forbidden Door, Copeland suggested trying the new move during their match at the O2 arena in London. “It worked,” he affirmed.
Looking ahead, Copeland and Cage are set to face The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, at All In where the AEW World Tag Team Championship will be on the line. Copeland had previously listed The Young Bucks among his desired opponents, alongside venues like Arena México.
Copeland told Fox News Digital, “The Young Bucks have been on my list since joining AEW became a reality. They were a must-face team. Initially, I was uncertain if Christian and I would reunite. But then our match with Mox reignited our partnership. It’s been a fun journey. We’ve been weaving our storyline around each partner’s character traits and enjoying the outcomes.”
All In is slated to take place on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London.
