Aaron Donald Announces Return to NFL with the Los Angeles Rams

When Michael Jordan made his 1995 return to the NBA, his statement was simple: ‘I’m back.’ Now, NFL star Aaron Donald is marking his return to the Los Angeles Rams in a different style. Donald’s announcement came through a video on Instagram.

Aaron Donald’s spouse, Erica Donald, shared her thoughts on social media: ‘I let him out the house y’all.’

Donald, who retired after the 2024 and 2025 seasons, is returning to the Rams at age 35. Having played for a decade, he aligns his goals to achieve former glory. ‘We back,’ he wrote, drawing from Jordan’s famous words.

In a recent source confirmation, Donald secured a one-year deal worth $20 million, potentially escalating to $30 million by 2026. He has been intensely training, continuing the reputation he built as one of his generation’s top defensive players and one of the best defensive linemen ever. Donald has already participated in two official ‘tryouts’ with the Rams and trained twice daily with personal trainers for over six weeks. His diet has also changed.

The Rams are aiming high with two main goals for Donald: Restore his elite playing level and secure a Super Bowl victory. Los Angeles appears poised for a strong season; they recently added Myles Garrett, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year. The potential of Garrett and Donald playing together offers a promising defensive lineup. The Rams also strengthened with cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, known talents from the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Rams are currently armed with rising defensive power and their quarterback, Matthew Stafford, who holds the title of defending NFL MVP.

Los Angeles aims for a Super Bowl win, seeking to improve on their NFC Championship performance from last season against the Seattle Seahawks, and their offseason has been impressive.
