Blake Monroe’s Emotional Debut on WWE SmackDown

Blake Monroe made a memorable debut on “Friday Night SmackDown,” drawing the anticipation of WWE fans who were eager to see her compete against Giulia. Monroe’s entry into the ring was different from her celebrated NXT introduction, where she would appear looking in a vanity mirror before entering the ring. Though fans hoped the mirror would feature in her SmackDown debut, it did not make an appearance.

Monroe entered the ring draped in a sheer robe adorned with showgirl-style feathers, which initially left fans disappointed. However, Monroe shared a personal story that explained her choice. She revealed her journey began nine years ago, tinged with nervousness before her first wrestling class. She recalled being anxious before stepping out of her car on that day. The sight of a feather on her windshield became a comforting symbol, linked to her late grandmother.

Monroe explained that her grandmother, who had recently passed away after battling illness, was an inspiring figure in her life. Finding the feather reminded her of her grandmother’s presence and encouragement. She believes it was a sign telling her to pursue her dreams in wrestling, something she describes as the “best decision” she ever made.

Leading up to her SmackDown debut, Monroe faced another personal loss with the passing of her grandfather. She shared that she experienced this difficulty in silence, attempting to maintain her focus and continue with her professional commitments. During these trying times, an unexpected feather found by her hairdresser brought her comfort, reinforcing her belief that her grandfather was also supporting her journey.

Her entrance with feathered fans on SmackDown may have seemed theatrical, but it held deep personal significance. Monroe felt connected to her grandparents, who she believes were with her in spirit during her debut. This emotional support helped her overcome the loneliness of chasing ambitious dreams in another country.

Monroe’s effort culminated in a victory against Giulia, marking her successful transition to the WWE main roster. In the match, Monroe capitalized on an error by Giulia, securing the win after her opponent was knocked out from a top-turnbuckle move.

Since joining WWE last year and debuting in NXT in June 2025, Monroe’s career has been on the rise. She previously held the NXT Women’s North American Championship before being promoted to the main roster.
