Justin Bieber has evolved remarkably since he first began posting song covers on YouTube. Today, he earns millions per show and has sold over 150 million records worldwide. His journey includes the release of three documentary-style movies and a string of chart-topping hits such as ‘Baby,’ ‘Sorry,’ and ‘Lonely.’
Born on March 1, 1994, in Canada to Jeremy Bieber and Pattie Mallette, Justin launched his rise to fame by uploading singing covers in 2007. Early in his career, he caught the attention of Scooter Braun, who became his manager in 2008. That year marked the beginning of his journey with the release of his first albums ‘My World’ and ‘My World 2.0’ in 2009 and 2010, respectively. These albums featured popular tracks such as ‘One Time,’ ‘One Less Lonely Girl,’ and ‘Baby.’
Bieber expanded his career with the release of a Christmas album ‘Under the Mistletoe’ followed by the 2011 movie ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,’ which made $12.4 million on its opening day. Another film, ‘Justin Bieber’s Believe,’ accompanied the release of his ‘Believe’ album in 2012. The movies continued with ‘Justin Bieber: Our World’ in 2021.
In 2015, Bieber clinched his first Grammy Award for ‘Where Are Ü Now’ and set a Guinness World Record as the youngest male artist to debut atop the Billboard 100 chart. His subsequent albums include ‘Journals’ (2013), ‘Purpose’ (2015), ‘Changes’ (2020), and ‘Justice’ (2021).
Bieber has collaborated with numerous artists like Post Malone, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne, and DJ Khaled. Besides music, Bieber ventured into the fragrance industry and founded a clothing line named Drew House with Ryan Good in 2018. Comprising vibrant colors, oversized attire, and smiley icons, Drew House does minimal advertising yet often sells out.
His ‘Justice World Tour’ (2022-23) was halted due to health concerns. Bieber revealed on Instagram that he suffers from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition caused by a virus affecting his ear and facial nerves, leading to paralysis on one side of his face.
In his personal life, Bieber married model Hailey Baldwin in a private ceremony in 2018, followed by a larger event the next year. Baldwin first met Bieber backstage at a concert when she was 12. They started dating in 2016 but broke up two years later during which Bieber rekindled his relationship with Selena Gomez. After Bieber and Gomez parted ways in early 2018, Bieber reunited with Baldwin and they became engaged soon after.
