Chicagoland High School Football Week 7 Highlights

Richards vs. Oak Lawn

Richards secured a 28-25 victory over Oak Lawn, thanks to Eric Jacobs’ impressive 65-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Despite injuries among key players, coach Tony Sheehan relied on Jacobs, emphasizing his dual role as a quarterback and kick returner. Jacobs’ aggressive play in the fourth quarter sparked the Bulldogs’ comeback.

Mount Carmel vs. Providence

Mount Carmel triumphed over Providence with a 49-14 win. Senior Quentin Burrell, bound for Michigan, showcased his talent with four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. The victory highlighted the Caravan’s dominance in the Catholic League crossover game.

Lincoln-Way East vs. Lincoln-Way Central

With a commanding 42-0 win, Lincoln-Way East came out on top against Lincoln-Way Central. Jack Murphy returned from a hamstring injury, catching eight passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns. The Griffins dominated from the start, with Murphy leading the charge in the first half.

South Elgin vs. West Aurora

Senior kicker Danny Moscoso clinched South Elgin’s victory with a 32-yard field goal, lifting the team to a 29-27 win against West Aurora. A soccer goalkeeper, Moscoso adapted to football’s pressure, securing the Upstate Eight West title.

Naperville North vs. DeKalb

Naperville North’s Dante Colasante led his team to a 42-14 victory over DeKalb. Although not the tallest quarterback, Colasante excelled by completing 6 of 12 passes for 115 yards, including three touchdowns, showcasing his effectiveness and talent.

Highland Park vs. Deerfield

Mason Auslander played a pivotal role in Highland Park’s 37-16 win over Deerfield, grabbing his third interception of the season. Determined to maintain his position, Auslander demonstrated his defensive skills and secured his spot on the team.

IC Catholic vs. Benet

IC Catholic emerged victorious against Benet with a 42-14 win. Jaden Penna contributed significantly with four receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns, along with an interception. The Knights’ dominant performance highlighted their strength on both sides of the ball.

Hobart vs. Hanover Central

Hobart defeated Hanover Central 42-14, led by quarterback Aleks Tatum. On senior night, Tatum showcased his skills with 210 passing yards, four touchdown passes, and 77 rushing yards, emphasizing his leadership and connection to the community.
