Jerry Jones Reflects on Dallas Cowboys’ Victory with Bold Remarks

Jerry Jones appeared enthusiastic while speaking to reporters after the Dallas Cowboys secured a 37-20 victory over the Washington Commanders. The billionaire owner of the NFL team issued a noteworthy statement: “Nothing more dangerous than an old man with money,” he quipped, as recorded by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

This remark came following the Cowboys’ impressive rebound from their underwhelming Week 1 performance against the New York Giants. In this game, Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes, overtaking Tony Romo as the franchise’s all-time leader in touchdown passes. Prescott now holds 249 touchdown passes over 11 years, surpassing Romo by one.

Jones confessed that starting the season 0-2 would have made it challenging to address the media. “I really was worried about what it was going to be like if we did end up 0-2,” he admitted, according to the team’s website. Despite his concerns, he praised the team’s important victory and credited the hard work of the players and coaching staff, including Brian Schottenheimer.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys are set to play against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil for their Week 3 game. While the current team’s success may not yet match the heights of the 1990s, the invigorated front office seems beneficial for everyone involved, from coaches to players.
