Ohio Man Faces Charges for Threatening Congressman and Former President

An Ohio resident found himself under arrest after making severe threats against a Jewish Republican congressman and calling for the death of former President Donald Trump. The FBI detained 26-year-old Alex Justin Miller, accusing him of sending a ‘true threat’ to Representative Randy Fine from Florida and his family, as reported by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

A disturbing message, obtained by Fox News Digital, revealed Miller allegedly referred to Fine and his family in derogatory terms, stating he would burn their home and vowed never to stop until Fine’s ‘head is hanging from the rooftops of the White House.’ The message concluded with a call for death to Randy Fine and Donald Trump.

The DOJ charged Miller with the interstate transmission of a threat to injure, highlighting the potential for a five-year prison sentence upon conviction. The Federal Aviation Administration had previously noted a separate incident where an employee faced charges after allegedly threatening former President Trump via email to the White House.

This matter was thoroughly investigated by the FBI, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, with backing from the Secret Service and Capitol Police. Congressman Fine indicated, ‘It was graphic. It says, I’m going to murder you. I reported it immediately,’ he told Fox News Digital, expressing that this constituted a death threat rather than a mere nasty message.

The full email sent to Fine was explicit in detailing threats of violence, alongside derogatory language. Fine remarked that the email was received on the morning of the primary Election Day in Florida, reinforcing his stance on the need for increased federal protection for officials.

Expressing gratitude, Fine acknowledged the swift response by law enforcement, who apprehended Miller within 36 hours of the report. ‘I’m incredibly grateful to those who took this seriously,’ Fine stated, urging others against threatening elected officials and emphasizing that disapproval can be expressed without resorting to violence.
