Frank Siller’s Memoir ‘Let Us Do Good’ Honors Brother Lost in 9/11

Frank Siller’s Memoir ‘Let Us Do Good’ Pays Tribute to Brother

Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, introduces his memoir, ‘Let Us Do Good,’ a book inspired by his late brother, Stephen Siller. Stephen was a firefighter who lost his life during the 9/11 attacks. Frank recounts Stephen’s courageous run through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and outlines the foundation’s mission of assisting injured veterans and families of first responders.

This memoir sheds light on the Siller family’s journey and the significant impact they have made through their charitable work.

Memorial Tour with a Steel Beam

In anticipation of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is embarking on a nationwide tour. They are transporting a 16,900-pound, 21-foot steel beam from the South Tower across America. This beam serves as a moving memorial to honor the victims and heroes of 9/11.

The beam’s journey started on May 2 in Lower Manhattan and will pass through more than 20 states, including California, Arizona, Washington, D.C., and Texas. Stops feature appearances by local officials, first responders, and foundation members.

Nationwide Educational Impact

The ‘Steel Across America’ tour aims to bring this historical relic to as many communities as possible. It serves as a tribute to civilians, first responders, and service members who died on 9/11 and those who have continued to serve.

Significance of Key Locations

Notable locations on the tour include Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida. This school is where President George W. Bush learned of the attacks. During the tour’s visit, former White House chief of staff Andy Card made an appearance, highlighting the event.

Foundation’s Ongoing Efforts

Founded to honor Stephen Siller, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation provides mortgage-free homes to families of fallen service members and first responders. This year, they plan to provide 343 homes to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who perished on 9/11.

The steel beam will be showcased at museums, public squares, sporting events, and the White House. Its journey will culminate at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, ultimately returning to Ground Zero on 9/11’s 25th anniversary.
