Outside another Fever game, the LGB Courage Coalition displayed a sign opposing certain medical procedures for minors. Jamie Reid, the coalition’s Executive Director, highlighted the lack of medical evidence supporting gender transitions for minors.
Reid stressed approaching the issue from a medical evidence perspective rather than through the lens of WNBA values. She emphasized the broad agreement among Americans that medical transitions for minors are problematic.
Social media influencer Becky Weiss, with a large following, praised Cunningham for advocating a fair playing field in women’s sports. Weiss pointed out that boys shouldn’t compete in girls’ sports, noting this stance is simply common sense.
Gabby Williams and Cheryl Reeve, prominent figures in women’s sports, were mentioned by Weiss, who stressed that children shouldn’t be exposed to the notion of being trans unless influenced externally.
