The altercation began as an argument between two ninth-grade students in the school’s bathroom. The disagreement escalated, leading one student to shoot the other. The incident took place at approximately 2:15 p.m. local time. The armed student fled but was later captured in a nearby area.

The incident could have been much worse, but only one student was injured, noted Sheriff Moulton.

Warner Robins High School will remain closed for the week. Staff won’t report on Thursday, and a crisis team will assist students and staff on Friday and the following Monday.
