Tafoya told Fox News Digital that her campaign represents “common sense” and aims to address concerns such as education and crime rates. She emphasizes inclusivity beyond conservative voters, stating there’s room for anyone seeking practical governance.

Following her primary victory, Tafoya will challenge Democratic Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan in the November general election. Tafoya accuses Flanagan of embodying a move toward “Democrat socialism,” reflecting issues under the current leadership.

Upon winning the primary, Tafoya reiterated her dedication to bipartisan outreach. She criticized the longstanding single-party governance in Minnesota, positioning herself as a candidate for change in the state.

Tafoya aims to be the first Republican to secure a statewide office in Minnesota since 2006. She criticizes Flanagan for the fraud scandal that led Gov. Tim Walz to not seek re-election. Additionally, she disapproves of Flanagan’s positions, including her stance on abolishing ICE.

Tafoya expressed her intent to hold current leaders accountable by electing new representatives with fresh perspectives. She plans to engage with former Democratic voters and independents who feel disconnected from their party, much like Michigan GOP Senate nominee Mike Rogers’ strategy.

Now moving beyond primary voters, Tafoya looks forward to conversations with disaffected Democrats and independents in her campaign, hoping to incorporate their ideas and concerns into her platform.
