The Laguna Beach Police Department released a video on Friday. It depicted officers and firefighters setting up a landing zone for a helicopter in the city’s foothills. During this time, a white sheepdog intervened. The sheepdog herded a nearby group of goats away from the landing area, ensuring a clear path for the helicopter.

The department’s drone captured the dog weaving behind the herd. Many goats moved up the hillside, away from the descending helicopter. The camera later focused on the sheepdog happily trotting across the hillside, its tail wagging after fulfilling its unexpected role.

In a social media post, the Laguna Beach Police Department praised the sheepdog for directing the goats aside. They said, “The sheepdog stepped up and helped guide a group of goats out of the way so the units could work.”
