Bret Michaels Updates Fans on Health After Kidney Stone Surgery

Bret Michaels recently shared a health update following his procedure for a kidney stone that wouldn’t pass naturally. The 63-year-old musician took to Facebook on July 22 to describe his recovery and express gratitude to medical staff.

He thanked frontline workers, doctors, and nurses for their care after he endured almost a week of intense pain due to the kidney stone. Despite the discomfort, Michaels performed concerts in Charleston, WV, Grantville, PA, and at Fairchild AFB in Spokane.

After the third concert, his pain intensified, and he had to be hospitalized as the stone wouldn’t pass. Michaels confirmed on Facebook that the operation was successful and he’s now out of post-op recovery, working hard to return to performing once fully healthy.

His Facebook update included a photo of him in the hospital, wearing an all-black outfit and a baseball cap, connected to medical monitors. He humorously mentioned being eventually made to change into a hospital gown.

Fans offered support and well wishes in the comments, with messages like “Can’t keep a good man down” and “Glad you’re doing better, brother.”

Prior to this, Michaels had shared on Instagram that he was suffering from the kidney stone, stating it caused him pain during his performance at Fairchild AFB.

Michaels also recently discussed his daughter Raine’s decision to sell feet photos online, sharing his support for the idea in an episode of “Calabasas Confidential.” He also shares a daughter named Jorja with his partner Kristi Lynn Gibson.
