Authorities are actively searching for Isabelle Johnson, a 38-year-old woman accused of murdering Jason Coulthart, a 43-year-old man in Florida. Coulthart’s remains were found buried in a shallow grave on June 25 in Freeport. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has been leading the investigation and manhunt for Johnson, which has lasted over a month.

Challenges in the Manhunt

Johnson has allegedly used various aliases and altered her appearance to evade capture. Authorities believe she has changed her hair and possibly used different names such as Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, and Jessica Dowdy. Her ability to manipulate others into helping her makes the search more complex.

“Every lead is pursued. Every tip is investigated. Every day brings us one step closer,” the sheriff’s office stated.

Identifying Features

The sheriff’s office has released descriptions of distinctive tattoos that could help identify Johnson. These include a rose or flower tattoo on her left hand and a large scorpion tattoo on her left thigh, extending from her buttock. Such details are crucial as Johnson may have altered other aspects of her appearance.

Investigative Findings

During Coulthart’s missing-person investigation, detectives uncovered information leading them to the property where Coulthart’s body was discovered. The District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the remains through DNA testing.

Arrests Connected to the Case

Five individuals have been charged with accessory to a capital felony for allegedly assisting Johnson. They include Michael Ray White, Kathleen Morris, Bobbi Wagstaff, Martin Leaverton, and Sandra Leaverton. Some provided transportation and supplies to Johnson.

Sheriff Michael Adkinson has warned that anyone found assisting Johnson could face charges: “If you give her a place to stay, help her hide, or lie for her, you will face consequences.”

Public Appeal

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has emphasized the importance of public assistance in capturing Johnson. A reward of up to $16,000 is offered for information leading to her arrest.

Johnson has ties to Walton and Okaloosa counties in Florida, as well as parts of Georgia and Alabama. Authorities believe she may exploit stories of hardship to garner sympathy and aid.
