Two Teen Girls Injured in E-Bike and SUV Collision in Libertyville

Two 15-year-old girls were injured in a collision with a Chevrolet Blazer while riding an e-bike in Libertyville. The incident occurred Tuesday night at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Winchester Road.

Paramedics responded to the scene at 9:08 p.m. after receiving a report of a crash involving a vehicle and an e-bike. According to the police, the SUV was heading north on Milwaukee Avenue and moved through the intersection with a green light. It hit the e-bike as the girls were crossing Milwaukee Avenue just north of the intersection, traveling east.

Emergency responders initially transported both girls to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. One of the girls required further medical care and was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago due to life-threatening injuries. The other girl remained at Condell with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet Blazer, a man, did not sustain any injuries in the crash. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, as reported by the police.
