Pudu Robotics has announced the launch of the first ‘full-scenario robot-serviced hotel.’ The hotel will utilize robots throughout the entire guest experience, from reception and room service to cleaning and guest support. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2027, with trial rooms and robot services beginning in late 2026. Early guests will experience robot check-in and autonomous room delivery before the full launch.
Location of the Robot-Run Hotel
The hotel will be located on West Artificial Island, linked to the Shenzhen-Zhongshan project in Guangdong Province. This location is fitting as Shenzhen is known as a technological hub in China. While robots in room service are common in many Chinese cities, this project aims to integrate robots into every aspect of the hotel experience.
Functionality of Hotel Robots
The hotel will feature 44 high-end rooms, a restaurant, a gym, and other guest amenities. Robots will manage all roles, including reception, room service, cleaning, food preparation, and guest support. Guests will check in with robots, have their luggage delivered by robots, and order services from their phones. Cleaning robots will use AI to manage waste detection and room upkeep.
The robots will operate on a shared intelligence framework, allowing different machines to perform various tasks while staying connected via the same software.
Robotic Staff and Technology
Pudu’s FlashBot will run a vending system for drink deliveries via smartphone. The PUDU T300 will handle luggage transport. Cleaning tasks will be managed by PUDU CC1 Pro and PUDU MT1 robots using AI technology. During the launch event, robots like BellaBot Pro and KettyBot Pro provided refreshments, demonstrating how these services could integrate into Shenzhen’s tech culture.
AI Integration in Hotel Operations
The hotel will use PuduFM 1.0, a foundation model for embodied intelligence, along with PuduAgent for managing operations. Cong Guo, CTO of Pudu Robotics, says the project will test new service models where AI and robots deliver interconnected experiences. The rollout will start with a public trial in late 2026, aiming for a broader opening in 2027.
China’s Rapid Adoption of Robot Hospitality
China has already embraced service robots in various sectors. The robot-run hotel aims to take this trend to an advanced level. The Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development will collaborate with Pudu Robotics, transforming West Artificial Island into a hub for robotics and technology. The goal is to create a space where robots handle nearly all service roles.
