Ann-Margret, the legendary star known for roles in “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Viva Las Vegas,” is opening her personal archives to fans. Partnering with Julien’s Auctions, she will sell cherished keepsakes, household items, and Bob Mackie-designed costumes starting June 23, 2026. A highlight of the auction is her custom 1997 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL883 Hugger, adorned with a mauve-and-daisy design, which she has ridden for over 20 years.
When asked by Fox News Digital about her love for riding, Ann-Margret enthusiastically replied, “Freedom, freedom, freedom!” Her passion for speed remains strong, as she continues to ride today. “Back in Sweden, my uncle had a big motorcycle,” she recalled. “I watched him and asked if I could ride with him. After that, I knew I needed one of my own.”
Ann-Margret has never feared riding fast. “I love the speed,” she admitted. “Even though I try not to go too fast, I am joyful when I get on that bike. I don’t get scared; that’s the problem!” Her passion for motorcycles began in the 1960s and has continued for decades, as captured in iconic images by photographer Douglas Kirkland, such as one of her racing down a Las Vegas highway in 1971.
The auction includes various memorabilia representing her illustrious career. Among them is an ivory-and-orange gown with a low V-neck that she wore in 1963 on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and later to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy. “It’s such a magnificent dress,” she remarked. “I was so young and had a great time.” Voting for Kennedy also marked a significant moment in her life.
As a Hollywood symbol, Ann-Margret embraces her status. “If men think I am sexy, then that’s fine,” she said with a smile. Her career has been sustained by discipline and a love for her work. “I’m a happy person,” she stated. “I enjoy my work, and it’s not work to me—it’s joy.” With no plans to slow down, she credits her energy to family and a life filled with the things she loves.
Ann-Margret’s auction allows fans to share in her memories and passion. From motorcycles to bespoke costumes, the collection tells the story of a life dedicated to entertainment. Her outlook remains positive, driven by the motivation to keep moving and cherish every moment of her journey.
