Four Old Broads in a Beauty Pageant
Leslie Kimbell, known for the “Four Old Broads” franchise, brings her characters back for another adventure. Footlight Players presents “The Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Beauty Pageant” at 1705 Franklin St. in Michigan City. Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, June 11-13, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. Directed by Leslie Evans, the play features Martha Parcell, who is hopeful this year is her chance to shine. Other memorable characters, such as Beatrice and Maude, join her in the competition. Live in the Ville Festival
The Hessville area in Hammond hosts the 2026 “Live in the Ville” festival at Hessville Park. Events begin at 11 a.m. and run until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13. Music includes performances by Dick Diamond and the Dusters on Friday at 7 p.m. and Chronic Flannel on Saturday at 6 p.m. This free festival offers various entertainments such as magic shows, face painting, and food trucks. Valparaiso Art and Literature Exhibition
The Artists Guild of Valparaiso will hold a closing reception for “The Birds of the Heir,” an exhibition by various artists inspired by Leena J. Byrd’s writings. Byrd’s new book, “The Beauty of Flight,” released in March, forms the basis of this exhibition. The reception is on Saturday, June 20, from 4-7 p.m. at 255 Indiana Avenue, Valparaiso. Buddy Holly Tribute Concert
Zachary Stevenson returns for a Father’s Day concert tribute to Buddy Holly at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster. The performance includes hits like “That’ll Be the Day” and “Peggy Sue.” Stevenson captures Holly’s spirit with his guitar skills and vocals. Tickets are $40.
