Rush Returns to the Stage After 11-Year Hiatus

Legendary rock band Rush performed in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 7, marking their return to the stage after more than a decade. The band launched their Fifty Something tour, their first since August 2015.

This tour is significant, not only because of the long gap but also because it is the first time band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have toured together since the death of their iconic drummer, Neil Peart, in 2020. Anika Nilles, a talented drummer, has stepped in to fill Peart’s role.

Entertainment Update: Keith Urban has been featured on a new song from classic rock band Deep Purple.

Fans were treated to a memorable setlist. As reported by Setlist.fm, the band opened the concert with “Xanadu,” a track from their 1977 album, “A Farewell To Kings.” This marked the first time Rush started a tour with that song.

The performance included timeless hits like “Limelight,” “Freewill,” and “The Spirit of the Radio.” In the second set, they performed several pieces from their 1976 album “2112,” such as “Overture” and “Grand Finale.” The show concluded with a humorous clip featuring South Park characters introducing the final song, the much-anticipated “Tom Sawyer.”

Additional News: Skrillex has released a new album, “SOMA,” signaling a major shift in his musical journey.

The concert paid tribute to Neil Peart. A video montage played, showcasing Peart with audio excerpts of him discussing his journey into drumming and his passion for the art. The band also dedicated “Bravado” from the “Roll the Bones” album to their late drummer.
