Caitlin Clark Overcomes Illness to Lead Indiana Fever to Victory

After the Indiana Fever’s victory over the Atlanta Dream, Caitlin Clark addressed her performance change during the second half. Clark revealed she felt unwell at halftime due to vomiting, yet her condition improved as the game progressed.

“I haven’t vomited like that in quite some time,” Clark shared with reporters. “But afterward, I felt better and lighter. So, I ran around feeling good in the second half, though my voice is a bit gone. But I’ll manage.”

Despite her health setback, Clark delivered an impressive performance. She scored 17 points, provided eight assists, and secured seven rebounds. This outing allowed her to tie her personal best, making her the fastest player in WNBA history to surpass 150 points and 50 assists in a season.

The victory was crucial for the Fever, especially after a heated sideline exchange between Clark and head coach Stephanie White caught public attention. The win ended their two-game losing streak, bringing them to a 5-4 record.

“Everybody took a moment this week for self-reflection,” Clark remarked. “Looking in the mirror and finding ways to improve was key, and I did the same.”

The Fever aim to continue this positive momentum against the New York Liberty on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. Fans expect Clark will strive to get past her illness as the team moves forward.
