Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss has become a mother for the first time. She and her husband, musician-manager Josh Villalta, announced the birth of their son, Maxwell James Villalta. Although Maxwell arrived on May 28, they have only recently shared the news publicly.

In a recent interview with People, Strauss and Villalta were excited to announce their new arrival. They also posted photos on social media to celebrate the occasion.

“We’re in the full-on newborn trenches: exhausted, running on fumes, and figuring new parenthood out as we go, and it’s still been the most fulfilling and incredible time of our lives,”

expressed Nita, reflecting on her first days as a mother.

Josh explained the inspiration behind their son’s name. Maxwell signifies their hope that he will “do whatever he does in life to the max.” The middle name, James, honors Nita’s father, musician James Strauss.

Nita described giving birth as the “hardest thing I’ve ever done,” but added that the experience ended on a positive note.

“I’ve always heard people say ‘You don’t know true love until they put your baby on your chest for the first time,’ but I never fully understood it until it happened to me,”

she shared. The moment brought an overwhelming sense of love and connection.

Looking forward to the future, Nita is excited about motherhood and the experiences it will bring.

“I’m excited for every phase of this new chapter, from right now as we’re learning to care for a newborn to bringing our son along for the ride on tour when the time comes!”

She anticipates the journey will be full of excitement and chaos but wouldn’t want it any other way.

While Nita takes maternity leave, Alice Cooper’s tour features 22-year-old guitarist Anna Cara as her temporary replacement. Known for her vibrant personality, Nita Strauss is expected to thrive in her new role as a mother.
