49ers CEO Jed York Faces Legal Issues in Ohio

John “Jed” York, the principal owner and CEO of the San Francisco 49ers, encountered legal troubles in Ohio over the weekend. York faced charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, to which he pleaded no contest on Monday.

York’s arrest took place on Sunday in East Palestine, near the Pennsylvania border. Initially charged with engaging in prostitution, the charge was later amended to disorderly conduct following court proceedings.

Graduating from Cardinal Mooney High School, York was required to post a $5,000 bond. The case details are sparse, but a report from the East Palestine Police indicates York’s arrest involved collaboration with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.

Court documents reveal York received a sentence of two days in the Columbiana County Jail, served concurrently with credit for one day already spent. He is also responsible for paying fines totaling $1,150. Additionally, authorities confiscated $160, intended to be forfeited to the Task Force as part of the settlement.

In an attempt to move past the incident, York has filed for an expungement to erase the occurrence from his records. Serving as team president since 2008, York has not yet received any public comments from the 49ers regarding the incident.

The NFL acknowledged the situation, confirming it will undergo review in line with their personal conduct policy. Attempts by WKBN to obtain comments from the team and York’s attorney remain unanswered.
