Will Levis Eyes Fresh Start After Being Waived by Tennessee Titans

An NFL quarterback is seeking a new beginning before the regular season following a difficult start to his career. The Tennessee Titans picked Will Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Levis played in 21 games as a starter for the Titans before they selected Cam Ward first overall in the 2025 draft. Reports indicate that the Titans released Levis on Sunday, and he is expected to clear waivers and enter free agency soon. Levis reportedly desired to be released by Tennessee.

Jeremy Fowler from ESPN shared on social media, “Titans waiving QB Will Levis, as Tom Pelissero said. I’m told Levis wanted out. Gets the fresh start he coveted.”

Levis had a 5-16 record as a starter for Tennessee. During his tenure, he recorded 3,899 passing yards, achieving 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. In training camp, Levis expressed his growth since joining the league, stating he has gained the confidence necessary to succeed as an NFL quarterback. “I feel like I worked a lot for others’ approval at the beginning of my career whereas I am just trying to be the best version of me at this point,” Levis stated. “And I have more confidence than I’ve ever had because of that. I don’t need to go out there and win X amount of games to feel the confidence; I have the confidence right now.”

“I know that I have put the tape out there already that I’m a dang good quarterback in this league, and I am better than I ever have been.”

Now, Levis will have the chance to demonstrate his skills to another team following his release by the Titans. He will need to climb the depth chart with any team he joins.

Malik Willis, selected by the Titans in the third round of the 2022 draft, found success elsewhere. He served as a backup for the Green Bay Packers during 2024 and 2025 before becoming the Miami Dolphins’ starting quarterback in the offseason. Willis’s trajectory might offer hope for Levis.
