Vincent Pastore, widely recognized for his role in the television series “The Sopranos,” has died at the age of 80. His passing was confirmed by his manager to CBS News.

Robert Attermann, Pastore’s manager for over 30 years, expressed, “I had the privilege of representing Vinny long before ‘The Sopranos’ made him a household name. To the world, he will always be remembered as ‘Big Pussy,’ but those who knew him saw much more.”

Pastore was found deceased in his Bronx home on Saturday afternoon. Authorities noted no signs of criminal activity.

Born on July 14, 1946, in the Bronx, Pastore served in the Vietnam War before obtaining a drama degree from Pace University. He began his acting career with film roles in “Goodfellas,” “Carlito’s Way,” and “Men of Respect.” Later, he appeared in movies like “The Jerky Boys: The Movie” and “Gotti.”

Throughout his career, he was featured in many TV shows, including “Celebrity Apprentice,” “Law & Order,” “Blue Bloods,” “General Hospital,” “The Practice,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and “One Life to Live.” In recent years, he was a series regular on “Gravesend” in 2022, and guest-starred on “Yellowjackets” in 2025.

Pastore, along with fellow cast members from “The Sopranos,” won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2000. They received another nomination the following year.

“He loved being an actor. His passion for acting was evident, and he generously offered guidance to young actors,” Attermann shared. “Losing Vinny is deeply personal for me. Over more than three decades, I witnessed not just his remarkable career, but the incredible person he was. I will miss his friendship, loyalty, humor, and heart.”
