Good morning from Screencaps headquarters. An unexpected incident happened earlier today when a third-party contractor arrived at my backyard unannounced at 7:55 a.m. They intended to install a smart meter, which required a power cut for an hour. I was surprised by the lack of notice. When I asked one of the workers, he claimed to have knocked; a claim I find questionable since I was already working and our dogs, who would normally react to knocks, remained calm.
This incident raises a question: Shouldn’t there be a courtesy knock or a heads-up before a power cut, especially before 8 a.m.?
Power Saver Programs: A Second Thought
This situation makes me question the advantages of these ‘smart meters’ for homeowners. Similar concerns apply to ‘smart’ thermostats. Could there come a time when setting an AC to 69 degrees becomes impossible due to power company restrictions?
My concern grows as I reflect on such technological interventions. They might not always benefit the homeowner.

Sports Illustrated Content and Changes
Changing the topic, let’s discuss some Sports Illustrated content from the weekend. Claire Kittle, a familiar figure for Screencaps, debuted in the swimsuit issue. I’ve always supported Instagram personalities like Christen Goff, Penny Lane, and Kittle. Despite SI’s earlier focus on diverse models, the recent issues seem to embrace traditional models. Lingerie brands are thriving once again, potentially shifting business strategies.
Victoria’s Secret Earnings Report
Victoria’s Secret’s recent earnings report on Tuesday showed a strong performance. The brand exceeded expectations, indicating a successful return to traditional strategies.
Finally, I’m managing some communication with the electrical contractors who left our power off and the box open. It’s been a frustrating morning.
Have a great day everyone.
