The editorial dated July 18, titled “The rise and fall of a corporate fad,” utilized our research to assert that connecting politics with markets through corporate DEI initiatives has adversely impacted both sectors. We wish to emphasize our findings clearly. Our research did not assess whether corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs were detrimental. Instead, we aimed to explore the political dynamics driving corporate commitments to DEI and their eventual decline.
