Unauthorized Copy of ‘The Odyssey’ Leaked; Universal Studios Responds

Universal Studios has issued a strong warning after an unauthorized copy of its successful film, “The Odyssey,” was leaked. The studio quickly initiated takedown procedures once they became aware of the situation. In a statement, they emphasized how seriously they take copyright infringement and their intention to pursue all necessary actions to protect their intellectual property.

The issue arose when a post on the platform X shared a high-quality copy of the Christopher Nolan film. This post was seen over 2.1 million times before a takedown notice replaced it. The post was initially shared on a Saturday afternoon, and the account responsible was suspended within three hours.

Despite the leak, “The Odyssey” remains a major attraction for moviegoers. The film has been drawing large crowds during its second weekend in theaters. Intense demand for advanced tickets caused AMC’s app to experience crashes in June, with users reporting wait times of up to an hour. In its second weekend, the film earned $87 million in box office sales, according to the analytics company Rentrak.
