President Donald Trump visited South Carolina on Friday night to boost the Senate campaign of Darline Graham. There, he aimed to invigorate Graham’s campaign while also seeking a win for himself.

Trump attempted to frame opposition against Graham as opposition towards himself, stating, “They’re only fighting Darline because they want me to lose.” This reveals Trump’s strategy of intertwining Graham’s success with his own political fortunes.

Trump’s role as a Republican kingmaker has faced challenges recently. A series of setbacks during the primary season has chipped away at his reputation, leaving him seeking opportunities to regain political standing.
