The Trump administration announced a significant achievement in immigration enforcement, revealing that over 10,000 suspected gang members have been arrested since President Donald Trump began his second term. These arrests are part of a larger campaign focused on removing violent criminals from U.S. communities.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that those arrested faced various charges, including murder, assault with a deadly weapon, drug trafficking, and robbery. Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin emphasized ICE’s role in fulfilling the administration’s commitment to community safety.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, ICE has arrested more than 10,000 gang members,” Mullin said. “These vicious criminals terrorized innocent Americans.”

Mullin highlighted the Secure America Act, which enhances ICE’s capability to arrest gang members and criminals. Federal authorities identified Javier Hernandez Rosas, an alleged MS-13 gang member and illegal immigrant from Mexico, as the 10,000th suspect arrested. Rosas has prior convictions, including cocaine possession and charges like abduction and weapons possession.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced reaching a record staffing level, with 21,471 agents, marking the highest in its 102-year history. The administration’s focus on border security has led to an 87% decrease in illegal immigration compared to October 2024 levels.
