Thekla Retains AEW Women’s World Championship at Double or Nothing

All Elite Wrestling’s Women’s World Champion, Thekla, faced tough competition at the Double or Nothing event. She competed in a four-way match against Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander, and Hikaru Shida with her title on the line.

As the match started, Thekla faced immediate challenges as her opponents quickly targeted her. Known as the “Toxic Spider,” she was under constant attack while the others sought dominance over each other. Shida and Statlander initially formed an alliance, but it soon crumbled when Shida disrupted a pin attempt with a kendo stick, leading to tensions between the two partners.

Thekla remained persistent throughout the match. She strategically waited for the right moment to act. When Hayter and Shida collided outside the ring, both attempting a double clothesline, Thekla seized the opportunity.

Inside the ring, Statlander found herself alone and disoriented. Thekla delivered a powerful stomp, securing the pin and thus defending her title successfully. This victory marked her continued reign as champion since she claimed the title from Statlander during “Dynamite” in February. She has defended her championship six times since then.

Following her victory, Thekla hinted at future plans but remained non-committal. She expressed a keen interest in the Owen Hart Women’s Tournament, endorsing her teammate Skye Blue from the Triangle of Madness as a potential winner.

Thekla’s journey as a formidable champion in AEW continues to capture the audience’s attention, with fans eagerly anticipating her next move.
