Using Character Bots in English and Writing Classes

During my English and writing classes, I have introduced an interesting project where students interact with fictional character bots. This initiative encourages engagement and critical thinking as they explore these digital entities.

Initially, I was concerned about the potential for students to become overly attached to platforms like Character.AI. These chatbots are highly appealing, particularly to young people. They offer a simulated friendship that consistently agrees, never tires, and does not challenge the user.
